Skills Program
Designed for learners aged 13 and older, the Skills Program focuses on building independence through practical life skills, including:
- Daily Living: Housekeeping, meal preparation, and hospitality
- Creative Pursuits: Music, arts, and crafts
- Vocational Skills: Horticulture, including floriculture, turf maintenance, and vegetable gardening
Learners are introduced to each skill based on their abilities.
Current Skills Offered:
- Agriculture
- Arts and Culture
- Assisted Daily Living (ADL)
- Horticulture (Floriculture and Turf Maintenance)
- Hospitality
- Music
- Meal preparation learners are required to follow health and safety practices, including wearing an apron and hair net, which are available for purchase from the school for R50.
- Agricultural apparel is shared among learners as school property, except for brimmed hats.
Parental Involvement:
- Weekly progress reports are sent home to reinforce skills.
- Parents/guardians are encouraged to share feedback through the communication book.
