How to Apply for Admission to Randburg Clinic School
Thank you for your interest in Randburg Clinic School. As a Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) institution specializing in supporting learners with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Severe Behaviour Disorders (SBD), all applications must be processed through the District Office to ensure proper placement. Below is a step-by-step guide to assist parents and guardians with the application process:
Step 1: Contact the District Office
All applications to special needs schools, including Randburg Clinic School, must be submitted via your local District Office. You can find your district’s contact details on the GDE website or by visiting your nearest GDE regional office.
Step 2: Obtain the Application Forms
The District Office will provide the necessary forms and information required for the application process. They may also request documentation from previous assessments and educational reports.
Step 3: Submit Supporting Documents
Ensure that you submit the following documents along with your application:
- Confirmed diagnosis by a registered medical practitioner
- Copy of the learner’s birth certificate or passport
- Copy of parent or guardian’s ID
- Proof of residence
- Recent school reports
- Educational psychologist assessment report
- Educational and developmental assessments (psychological, occupational therapy, and/or speech therapy reports, if available)
- Clinic card
- Study permit (for non-South African citizens)
- Court order (if applicable)

Step 4: District Evaluation
The District-Based Support Team (DBST) will review your application and conduct assessments to determine the appropriate school placement for your child.
Step 5: School Contact and Intake Assessment
After the evaluation, the District Office will forward your documents to the relevant school. Randburg Clinic School will then contact you to schedule an intake assessment. Once the intake assessment is completed, if your child is determined to be a suitable candidate and there is space available, the school will proceed with admission. You will be contacted once the final documentation is received from the District Office to confirm placement and start dates.

Important Notes:
- Direct applications to the school cannot be processed. All admissions must go through the district.
- The application process may take time due to assessments and evaluations; your patience is appreciated.
At Randburg Clinic School, we admit learners within the following age ranges:
- ASD Unit: 3 to 21 years
- SBD Unit: 7 to 13 years
If you have any questions or need assistance with the process, please contact your district office or our admissions office for further details.
