Resource Center

Randburg Clinic School serves as a resource center for schools in the Johannesburg North district. We provide specialized support to mainstream and special needs schools as requested by the District-Based Support Team (DBST). Our goal is to empower schools with the tools and strategies needed to support learners with diverse educational needs.

Support Services Offered:

  1. Teacher and Staff Training:
    • Workshops on autism-specific teaching strategies
    • Classroom management techniques for learners with behavioral challenges
    • Training on the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) tools such as Makaton and PECS
  2. Therapeutic Support:
    • Speech and language development strategies
    • Occupational therapy techniques to enhance sensory and motor skills
    • Guidance on behavior management strategies
  3. Consultation Services:
    • On-site visits to assess classroom environments and recommend accommodations
    • Collaborative meetings with teachers, parents, and therapists to develop individualized support strategies for learners
  4. Assessment and Recommendations:
    • Screening of learners to identify developmental or learning barriers
    • Recommendations for interventions and classroom accommodations.
  5. Resource Sharing:
    • Provision of educational materials and visual supports.
    • Guidance on structured teaching techniques
  6. Parent Support:
    • Workshops and information sessions to help parents understand their child’s learning and developmental needs
